Welcome!

The First Catholic Church for African-Americans in Dallas, est. 1905.

Welcome to the home page for St. Peter The Apostle Roman Catholic Community in Dallas, Texas. Pope Benedict XVI stated in 2010: “The world of digital communication, with its almost limitless expressive capacity, makes us appreciate all the more St. Paul’s exclamation: “Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel” (1 Cor 9:16) [...] as new technologies create deeper forms of relationship across great distances, they are called to respond pastorally by putting the media ever more effectively at the service of the Word.”

May God bless all our visitors. We hope you find something here to bring you back again to the value of the Gospel, to the  Church and our Community.

Our mission as Roman Catholics united in faith at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Dallas, Texas is to help bring God to people and people to God. Through evangelization, education and being of service to each other, we strive to make our parish community a holistic community in body, mind and spirit. It is our goal to develop, support, encourage and empower one another in our parish ministries, so that each person can reach their human and Christian potential. We are enthused about the future of St. Peter Parish and the whole Catholic Church and we pledge our participation in that future. We seek dialogue and open communication with all parishioners in fulfilling the needs of our parish. While recognizing the cultural diversities in our community, we will strive to bring all people together in Christ under a common bond of faith, hope and love.

  • Prayer to the Virgin Mary for Protection & to overcome racism

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.

At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain,

    with steadfast faith.

You, Our Lady, Health of the Sick, know what we need.

We are certain that you will provide, so that,

as you did at Cana of Galilee,

joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love,

to conform ourselves to the Father’s will

and to do what Jesus tells us:

He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us,

through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.

Do not despise our pleas we who are put to the test

and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin

  • MONTHLY STEWARDSHIP REPORT - JUNE, 2020

Protect yourself from COVID-19. Please be aware that all gatherings pose a risk of infection and that all the protocols of social distancing as well as hand sanitizing are to be followed. Masks are most important during these days and should be worn on parish property. All Catholics remain dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass at this time. Please take all the necessary steps to protect yourself and others.

I pray that you and your families and our church families are staying strong and healthy.

Given the absence of collections at mass over the past months and the upcoming weekends, I would like to remind you of the importance of weekly / monthly giving and please continue your support of St. Peter the Apostle parish to the extent that you are able.  Even though public Sunday masses are cancelled, the mission and work of the church continues.

  • INDEPENDENCE DAY

A PRAYER FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY                                                                                         God, source of all freedom, this day is bright with the memory of those who declared that life and liberty are your gift to every human being. Help us to continue a good work begun long ago. Make our vision clear and our will strong: that only in human solidarity will we find liberty, and justice only in the honorthat belongs to every life on earth. Turn our hearts toward the family of nations: to understand the ways of others, to offer friendship, and to find safety only inthe common good of all. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
