The First Catholic Church for African-Americans in Dallas, est. 1905.

Welcome to the home page for St. Peter The Apostle Roman Catholic Community in Dallas, Texas. Pope Benedict XVI stated in 2010: “The world of digital communication, with its almost limitless expressive capacity, makes us appreciate all the more St. Paul’s exclamation: “Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel” (1 Cor 9:16) [...] as new technologies create deeper forms of relationship across great distances, they are called to respond pastorally by putting the media ever more effectively at the service of the Word.”

May God bless all our visitors. We hope you find something here to bring you back again to the value of the Gospel, to the  Church and our Community.

Our mission as Roman Catholics united in faith at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Dallas, Texas is to help bring God to people and people to God. Through evangelization, education and being of service to each other, we strive to make our parish community a holistic community in body, mind and spirit. It is our goal to develop, support, encourage and empower one another in our parish ministries, so that each person can reach their human and Christian potential. We are enthused about the future of St. Peter Parish and the whole Catholic Church and we pledge our participation in that future. We seek dialogue and open communication with all parishioners in fulfilling the needs of our parish. While recognizing the cultural diversities in our community, we will strive to bring all people together in Christ under a common bond of faith, hope and love.

  • Prayer to the Virgin Mary for Protection & to overcome racism

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.

At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain,

    with steadfast faith.

You, Our Lady, Health of the Sick, know what we need.

We are certain that you will provide, so that,

as you did at Cana of Galilee,

joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love,

to conform ourselves to the Father’s will

and to do what Jesus tells us:

He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us,

through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.

Do not despise our pleas we who are put to the test

and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin

Our pastor, Fr. Jacek Nowak, SChr is leaving St. Peter the Apostle Church following 5 years of service. His last sermon will be September 27.

We have always observed Father Jacek as a man who  believes and lives his vows of poverty and obedience. His concern always has been about bringing others into the kingdom of Christianity and the belief in the presence of the  Lord. Thank you Father for: Always being supportive of the church programs for the Christian Community, for your willingness to the new ideas that have strengthened  and inspired the parishioners, and for the personal touches you have added to our celebrations that inspire and bring joy to all of our remembrances.

You have updated our church kitchen, added new landscaping to the church yard, improved the rectory and added a beautiful lighted Cross on the steeple of the Church, which has become  a beacon  to the neighborhood to come and worship.

Most of all we all we all will remember the Christmas snow and the sheep!!!

You will be missed by all parishioners, you have strengthened and enabled our church to  grow and become an oasis of love and inspiration to everyone in this community. Thank you Father for serving all of us  through your service and dedication .
