Altar Servers
Ministranci
Altar boy or altar server is a ministrant (Latin ministrare – to serve) is a person serving during liturgical celebrations. The altar servers are children and young persons who have already received their First Holy Communion and perform various ministries at the altar. While serving, the altar servers wear the appropriate dress: alb with cingulum
The activities of the altar include:
- service directly at the altar
- ministry in incensing
- carrying a processional cross
- carrying and serving the liturgical book
- reading the Word of God (reader)
- singing the responsorial psalm (psalter)
- liturgical commentary (commentator)
- responsibility for the entire liturgical celebration (ceremonial)

Ministrant (łac. ministrare – służyć), to osoba posługująca w czasie celebracji mszy liturgicznych. Ministrantami są dzieci i młodzież, którzy przystąpili już wcześniej do Pierwszej Komunii św. i wykonują różne posługi przy ołtarzu. W czasie służby ministranci najczęściej ubierają odpowiedni strój: albę z cingulum.
Czynności ministranta obejmują:
- posługę bezpośrednio przy ołtarzu
- posługę przy okadzaniu
- noszenie krzyża procesyjnego
- noszenie i podawanie księgi liturgicznej
- czytanie Słowa Bożego (lektor)
- śpiew psalmu responsoryjnego (psałterzysta)
- komentarz liturgiczny (komentator)
- odpowiedzialność za całą celebrację liturgiczną (ceremoniał)
