What is the Confirmation? / Czym jest Bierzmowanie?
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

“Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, for he had not yet come to any among them, but they had only been baptized in the nae of the Lord Jesus. They then laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.”

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, “by Confirmation, {the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.”

In the Roman Catholic Church, confirmation is given to candidates at the eighth grade, and this is after they receive First Holy Communion. Confirmation is received only once in a lifetime.
Bierzmowanie jest jednym z trzech sakramentów wtajemniczenia chrześcijańskiego w Kościele katolickim, prawosławnym i anglikańskim. Zgodnie z tradycją chrześcijańską bierzmowanie uważane jest za drugi po chrzcie sakrament inicjacji chrześcijańskiej. Przez Katechizm Kościoła Katolickiego jest zaliczany do pierwszej z trzech grup siedmiu sakramentów – „sakramentów wtajemniczenia chrześcijańskiego”. Jego istotą jest przekazanie wiernym „Znamienia daru Ducha Świętego” i umocnienie ich wiary. Jednoczy ściślej z Jezusem Chrystusem.
W Kościele rzymskokatolickim bierzmowanie jest udzielane kandydatom w wieku między 14. a 18. rokiem życia, a więc już po przyjęciu Pierwszej komunii świętej. Sakrament bierzmowania przyjmuje się tylko jeden raz w życiu.
Preparation for the Confirmation / Przygotowanie do Bierzmowania
Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation. It perfects the grace received at Baptism(when we receive the Holy Spirit). Students seeking Confirmation, must be baptized and provide a copy of the Baptism certificate. In addition, they should have completed their First Holy Communion.
Students attend classes every week for two consecutive years to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Before Confirmation, Holy Confession is always required.
